In what year did you start playing roller derby?
2019, but actually 2022 (thanks COVID)
Were you previously a member of another league?
Miami Roller Derby, Fresh Meat Fall 2019
Is there a story behind your name?
I grew up idolizing Wednesday Addams and Buffy the Vampire Slayer so I blended the two. I’m very determined, I slay whatever I put my mind to… and love wearing cool outfits while skating! The word Slay just fits
I use Slay for short. I chose my number 10 because Slay10 sounds like Satan So I dreamt little roller derby dreams of people cheering for me saying “Hail Slay10!” to kind of sound like “Hail Satan.” To be clear, I don’t worship the devil, I just think it sounds super METAL
Tell us about your gear!
I love using Smith Scabs kneepads! Especially with their color and pattern options
I prefer my Zombie wheels, I mix and match durometers depending on the floor we are on.
S1 helmets with visors because I need my eyeballs
We all end up in the penalty box at some point. Which penalty is your favorite and why?
Track cuts! Did I touch the line? Did I not touch the line? I don’t know
What’s your favorite Orlando theme park ride?
Islands of Adventure, The Incredible Hulk; Disney, Haunted Mansion; not a ride but honorable mention to the Universal Studios Monster Makeup Experience
What’s your favorite Orlando activity that isn’t a theme park?
I love trail skating and building up my endurance while being in nature! My favorite right now is West Orange Trail. I’m proud to say I’ve skated 30 miles on that trail but had to stop because we got rained out!
Everyone loves restaurant recommendations. Which Orlando area restaurant would you tell people to check out?
I love Asian food!! For food, King Bao for bao, Ootoya for sushi, and Lechonera for Latin American food. For dessert Premium Matcha Café Maiko has delicious Taiyaki and matcha ice cream. Finally, Vampire Penguin flavored shaved snow in Apopka, right by West Orange Trail
Into which Hogwarts house would you be sorted?
Slytherin
