My last name is Sterling and I’ve been obsessed with mermaids for as long as I can remember.
Did you have any previous athletic or skating background before starting roller derby?
I used to cheerlead competitively and for my school as well as play soccer.
Tell us about your gear!
I love wearing crash pads; it’s fun to have someone hit you and you get right back up with no pain because you had pads protecting you. Also, knee pads whenever skating are a must!
We all end up in the penalty box at some point. Which penalty is your favorite and why?
Oh man, my favorite penalty would be clockwise/stop blocks when blocking (somehow after all these years I am still unaware of when I’m doing this and face palm when I hear it called every time). As a jammer, I always crack myself up when I get a low block because I fell.
What’s your favorite Orlando theme park ride?
Velocicoaster at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. I love thrilling roller coasters!
What’s your favorite Orlando activity that isn’t a theme park?
Concerts! So many amazing artists come through Orlando and it seems like I’m at a concert every other weekend.
