Is there a story behind your name?
I love raccoons (trash pandas) and thrash metal/punk. I am going to tap into my raccoon self, get crafty, and thrash through the blockers!
Did you have any previous athletic or skating experience before starting roller derby?
I started playing soccer when I was 6 years old and stopped playing after high school. Randomly skated at rinks throughout my life. During the pandemic, the local rink was the only thing open so my friends and I would skate any chance we got. That brought me to buying my own skates. Eventually, I was such a regular and I ended up getting a job at that very rink! s/o Skate Station Funworks Gainesville, FL! Skated Santa Monica/Venice Beach went to Moxi Skate Camp in Woodward, CA with my mom (J-ROC). Then, I started going to the skate park with my boyfriend until I found Orlando Roller Derby.
Tell us about your gear!
I just really like my S1 helmet, protects my head and it has a ton of raccoon stickers on it.
We all end up in the penalty box at some point. Which penalty is your favorite and why?
I absolutely hate being in the penalty box, so I wouldn’t say I have a favorite. BUT, I happen to get forearms when I’m jamming. When I’m pivot/blocker I get directionals because I’m still in that jammer mentality towards the other teams jammer. :”(
What’s your favorite Orlando theme park ride?
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Disney (tell rocket raccoon that I’m his biggest fan)! I also love the Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Universal!
What’s your favorite Orlando activity that isn’t a theme park?
I really love the Central Florida Zoo! PJ, the Greater One-Horned Rhino and the warthogs are a sight to see! I love to visit the springs and going camping. Going on trails to go birding is the best to see some really awesome FL native wildlife. Gamer bars are also a lot of fun!
Everyone loves restaurant recommendations. Which Orlando area restaurant would you tell people to check out?
I am a huge foodie (hence the eating trash part, but its really good trash)!
